Grand Canyon

Over the weekend I went to the Grand Canyon. I was going to be hiking it down to the river and back up in one day. It was going to be a very interesting trip because I feel out of shape. I did not want to be the one to slow every one down. Before the trip I was really debating on if I should do the trip or not. I was thinking to myself that I’m going to regret it if I do not go. Well, I decided to go on the trip it was going to be fun, exciting, and I know it was going to be hard.

We would have to be heading from the school at five in the morning. I was there on time and was ready to head to the canyon. It was going to be a fun trip. There was going to be about nine students going on the trip, but only six people showed up. So I figured I was going to be the slowest person because I was the biggest person.

When we got to the canyon it was cold. The first part of the trail was icy here and there. There were not many people hiking the trail we were on. We as a group jogged down the trails. We made it down to the river really fast. We made it before noon. We had lunch near the river and we even got to get into the water if we want. I only went about knee deep though because it was pretty cold.

When we started hiking out we saw some deer near the trail. We all saw about five deer at the moment. We thought it was pretty neat to see them that close. The hike out I was not looking forward to because it was going to be a long ways out. The last part is the worst to me because it is kind of steep. After awhile, I finally made it out the canyon. It took almost four hours to get out. I am just glad to have gotten out. I was the last person out. I had someone with be, but they got out just a little before me. Today, I was all sore I cannot even walk that well. Well I regret going, but then again not it was beautiful to see the nice views I’m glad I went on the trip.

  1. I should of went with you guys but that seemed to hard to do. Its always great to do something out in the wild and see some cool stuff that you never see in the ordinary life that we live in. Last time i went into the canyon i didnt even get to see any animals so your pretty lucky to see some deer. Your crazy to get into that water, its all scary when the currents are going fast, i feel like im going to get taken away by the river especially when i dont know how to swim. Well sounds like you had a blast hiking the Grand Canyon and good luck getting out of that soreness.
